Abstract
This paper describes a cost effective technique for establishment of a rural wireless communication network by combining the concept of remote RF and power line communication. It is shown that orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) can be effectively utilized for baseband signal modulation to achieve both reduced EMI and better signal to noise ratio (SNR) performance. In the present study MATLAB simulation studies are carried out indicating the probable choice of carrier frequencies for power line communication (PLC).
