Abstract :
High power microwave radiation in the S-band is being studied in small body waveguides. Waveguide structures are being developed that transmit high power microwaves in the S band from the TE11 mode into high gain, highly directive radiation patterns. Using advanced modeling techniques, the behavior of these high power electromagnetic waves can be accurately described inside the waveguide as well as in the near and far field regions. The simulations are being used to plan and improve high power experiments performed on the waveguide. Presented are the modeling results of high power electromagnetic waves in the small body waveguide. Plans for an S-band microwave experiment are also discussed.
