Abstract :
A high power and high efficiency oscillator has been designed and realized in hybrid form to operate at about 5GHz. The implemented design technique is based on the adoption of high-efficiency harmonic tuning strategies. Measured efficiency of the realized test vehicle is higher than 45% with an output power higher than 27.8dBm. Phase noise better than -103.8dBc/Hz @100KHz from the carrier has been measured.
