Abstract
In this paper, high-speed travelling-wave photodetectors for fibre-optic millimeterwave communication systems are discussed. Since the devices are fabricated as electrical waveguides the bandwidth is not limited by the usual RC time constant. The distributed absorption allows further the conversion of high optical input powers to high millimeter wave output power
