  • Abstract
    This paper describes the models of functional parts in the Optical Fiber Digital Communication Systems (OFDCSs), and with these models, some computer programs are made out to simulate the characteristics of the whole system from electrical sending-end to electrical receiving-end. Thus, a laboratory platform applicable to evaluation and theoretical research of OFDCSs is hereby built up, it is capable of showing the signal waveform, eye diagrams and calculating the error rate as well. By using the software in testing and evaluating a given system, the good agreement with the experimental results reveals that the models are accurate and the software is suitable in the simulation of the systems
