Abstract
The Korean government establishes a new policy on technopolies development from the quite different perspective compared to the last 3 decades. Traditionally, the central government not only plays as the major initiating and operating sector, but also as the most largest funding source. But the situation has changed in mid 1990´s as local governments were endowed with autonomous power from the central government. In this perspective, the central government decides to support the technopolis development efforts of the local government by funding some portion of the total investment if the local government surpasses the criteria set by the government policy
