Abstract
With rapid development of mobile agents, mobile agent coordination becomes an emerging technology in multiagent systems for distributed and Internet applications. In the meantime, instant messaging is getting popular and many people use it to coordinate with each other. This work designs and implements an instant messaging-based multiagent coordination system. Our system has the merits of easy to implement and ubiquitous access. An example of instructor-learner interaction based on our prototype is used to demonstrate the feasibility of our system. A ubiquitous meeting room and an instant messaging mail service are provided in our system for multiagents to coordinate with each other in any place and at any time.
