Abstract
The authors have test-fabricated a quasiresonant DC/DC converter to reduce the switching loss of the static-induction (SI) thyristor, and have conducted circuit simulations and tests. It is concluded that the adoption of a quasiresonant converter enabled about 34% of the device loss to be reduced compared with the forward converter. It is expected that this loss reduction would lead to an increase in both efficiency and output power
