Abstract :
PV solar electricity will be established on the world market, due to the growing worldwide industrial production and thus falling costs, PV is competitive in all market segments and cost effective to most conventional energy sources. The transition phase is characterized by fast growing PV markets. The main conclusion might be that domestic production should meet domestic markets. Since a sustainable development of domestic PV solar electricity markets take at least one decade, it is time to start now to develop new upcoming markets in fast growing economies as well as to grow existing markets in harmony with production capacity increase. During transition phase, with the necessity of political driven market support programmes it might be helpful for the whole PV industry worldwide, not to stress the few existing markets by only focussing on local production for export purpose into these few lead markets. But investing now in local market evaluation, convincing officials, politicians as well as investors of the meaning of PV solar electricity will pay off soon economically and ecologically
