Abstract
The geothermal drilling and completion process is described in order to identify the technology development needs of the geothermal drilling industry. These needs are grouped by function, and relevant research and development projects at Sandia National Laboratories are described. Sponsored by the US Department of Energy, these projects are developing new tools and techniques that should reduce geothermal drilling costs by 25%
