Abstract
A computer based system for physiological signals acquisition and monitoring is described. A multichannel acquisition network is used to acquire different signals and lead them to a PC-based supervision console. Digitized signals are obtained from smart sensors which are built with a microcontroller including an analog to digital converter and a communication port. Every smart sensor is through a single connection network to the supervision console. A special algorithm has been designed in order to manage the network activity. The system is able to acquire continuously up to 10 analog signals at the same time at a sampling rate of 256 Hz with a 12 bits resolution. Therefore, in multiple situations such as a specific clinical investigation or a particular research protocol, this device would simplify the acquisition procedures and allow special signal analysis
