Abstract :
In this paper, we will focus on the application of CNT cold cathodes in low current X-ray tubes operating at 25kV to 40kV. Detailed discussion will include cathode performance requirements from a commercial product point of view, the performance and status of current cathodes, factors that affect the tube production yield, and operating life and reliability. Measurement of electron beam distribution from CNT cathodes and its implication in designing focused tubes will also be discussed.
