Abstract
This paper proposes a method for the control of the electrode regulator system of electric arc furnace. The paper classifies the electrode regulator system as a special class of Hammerstein-Wiener model. Using the inverse function of the nonlinear blocks, the controller design is simplified by removing the nonlinear part. And then, the fuzzy PID control method is used in order to reduce the influence of the error caused by the system identification. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
