Abstract
The installation and use of a 3500 HP adjustable-speed drive on a crude-oil/natural-gas pipeline is described. The unit presented is a variable-frequency induction motor drive using gate turn-off thyristors. It increased the capacity of the pipeline from 130000 barrels/day to 185000 barrels/day
