Abstract :
Improvement of volatile organic compounds removal efficiency by the atmospheric pressure non-thermal plasma combined with the manganese-dioxide supported alumina catalysts was examined concerning with the catalysts, those positions related with the plasma area. The existence of the electric filed in the catalyst area just after the plasma region is also examined. Concerning with the carbon balance by the plasma process, all processes with the catalyst suggested nice carbon balance but the exact absolute value is not yet convinced. The catalyst affects the byproducts in many points. Chlorine production is large for that plasma process with the catalyst but small production of phosgene. The catalyst suppress the generation of TCAA and DCAC byproducts.
