Abstract
In this paper a new control method based on Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) technique is proposed to control the single-phase to three-phase matrix converter. The proposed control method uses the combination of both odd and even cosine series. Simulation results of the proposed control method in PSCAD/EMTDC software show that using this control method matrix converter can produce desired three-phase voltage with low THD and also guarantees that the input power factor always remains unity.
