Abstract :
A medium access control (MAC) protocol is one of the key design issues in integrated multimedia wireless networks. A TDMA-based protocol might cause channel access delay due to frequent bandwidth assignment. To compensate the drawbacks of TDMA-based schemes, a CDMA-based MAC protocol is proposed and its performance is discussed. It is shown that the proposed CDMA-based MAC protocol is more efficient in statistical multiplexing and bandwidth utilization, and has almost zero channel access delay
