Abstract :
A mathematical model has been designed for a Switched Reluctance Machine (SRM) using Matlab/Simulink environment which operates in both motoring and generating mode with an asymmetrical half-bridge converter topology. In motoring mode, the load is disconnected whereas in generating mode, the load is connected by which the phase demagnetization generates power to the load and prime mover is connected through IC Engine from Hybrid Electric Vehicles(HEV) or Horizontal Wind Turbine(HWT) thereby became helpful in application of variable speed drives. For the problem of performance optimization in this machine, two controllers are pro posed to determine the optimal turn-on and turn-off angles as per the load requirements. Also the simulation results for SRM/Gs are presented and validated in this paper.
