Abstract :
Mechanism for one-to-many transmission over wireless channel to transfer information to multiple users simultaneously and support multimedia services is multicast communications. Hence designing of efficient multicast transmission scheduling is important. In this paper, multicast transmission scheduling scheme with Adaptive Modulation and Coding is proposed based on two-phase cooperative transmission model for achieving efficient and reliable multi cast scheduling in IEEE 802.16 networks. The proposed scheme achieve high throughput and maintain good fairness performance by exploiting the spatial multicast gain and considering the normalized relative channel conditions. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated in terms of service probability, power consumption, bit error rate and throughput of multicast groups, each group member and whole network by developing an analytical model. Simulations are performed to verify the analysis and explain the efficiency of the proposed multicast scheduling scheme.
