Abstract
The article reviews funding of grid-connected photovoltaics in Germany. Indirect measures such as research funding or the key question of external costs are not considered. Following an explanation of the principle and an illustrative example, tables provide a comprehensive overview in the following areas: demonstration projects, investment incentives, electricity sell-back rates, secondary funding. The discussion shows that rate-based incentives could establish a long-term demand which industry needs, in order to establish mass production with its potential for cost regression
