Abstract :
This paper presents a novel methodology that can be used to design location aware systems. Here, a sound signal is trapped between two distantly separated transceivers in an endless loop. As the transmitting medium between the two modules is air, there is a phase difference at the transmitting and the receiving end which is proportional to their separating distance. The signal, thereby circulates is a sinusoidal wave formed by summation of multiple phasors. This signal endowed with an interesting characteristics; its maximum amplitude shoot´s up at separating distance equivalent to an integer multiple of single wavelength of the sound wave applied. A positioning system is designed and practically implemented applying this method, which can locate a target with in few millimeters of its true position. We have also introduced an intelligent control unit to enhance its performance.
