  • Abstract
Integrating machine vision in industrial automation involves providing computers typically of human vision. Vision "engines" are increasing in advances in processors like Digital Signal Processors (DSP), speed and decreasing in cost. The vision algorithms for creation of a vision application capable of selected image processing and analysis functions have been developed. They include storing an image into memory, the application of noise filters, segmenting the image and performing connected component analysis. The image processing is a computational intensive task with applications in various engineering fields.
