Abstract :
This paper describes an improved approach in the implementation of a monocular object tracking system in real time. Visual processing is performed in a smaller field of view (or called fovea window) extracted from an image. The visual processing method makes use of a corner detector to identify corners (or features) of the object appearing in the fovea window. The overall system was tested using a model train and results of tracking activities, at a frame rate of 15 Hz, were found to be satisfactory
