Abstract :
A new voltage source drive has been developed by Converteam. This drive uses a 3-level Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) inverter topology and has a nominal power rating of 2.5MW. It is targeted primarily at the Renewable and Offshore markets but ultimately can be used in all of the markets served by Converteam. This paper gives a technical description of our new product and explains how it meets and in some cases exceeds all the requirements of our markets.
