Abstract :
We have fabricated a micro optical bench (MOB) for realization of alignment free optical coupling module. For single mode fibers, there is a coupling loss of less than 3dB for 1.55 /spl mu/m and channel uniformity of less than 1 dB was achieved. For multi mode fibers, the coupling loss of about 0.5dB was achieved. In this study, we have demonstrated the feasibility of realizing alignment-free coupling using MOB scheme.
