Abstract
There is widespread potential for generating modest amounts of hydroelectric power at water treatment plants in the United Kingdom water supply industry. This paper identifies some of the potential sources of mini-hydro power, reviews the applicable mechanical, electrical and control equipment and considers some of the factors influencing technical and economic viability of power generation at these sites. The institutional regulations applicable to new plants are also identified
