Abstract
In this paper we describe the throughput performance of Linux TCP over multiple UBR flows in the presence of a high priority traffic class like CBR. We then propose a modified congestion control algorithm for TCP to improve its throughput over ATM networks in particular. The experimental results are provided to claim that our proposed algorithm is dynamically sensitive to the congestion in the network and adjusts the sender rate more accurately. At the same time the fairness and synchronization is thoroughly better between contending TCP flows.
