Abstract
The CIM (Common Information Model) is an umbrella term for a collection of related standards produced by working groups of IEC TC57. Briefly, this body of work consists of 1) a canonical data model for power system operations, 2) tools and methodology for deriving interface specifications from the canonical data model, and 3) an open ended set of standard interfaces derived from the model for specific business purposes.
