Abstract :
In power market environment, available transfer capability is an important index which is defined as the maximum additional power that can be transmitted in an interchange schedule between the specified buses. In this paper, emergency demand response program, which is one of the incentive-based demand response programs, is used as a method for available transfer capability enhancement, and this implementation is evaluated from both economical and reliability view points. For this aim, the emergency demand response program is implemented for specific loads which are chosen according to a sensitivity analysis. Then, available transfer capability is calculated by an OPF-based market clearing procedure and is compared with its initial value, which was computed before the implementation of demand response program. Numerical studies are conducted based on IEEE 30-bus test system.
