Abstract :
A power system off-line visualization application of nomograms for support in assessing voltage security is presented. Nomograms consist of different pre-contingency and contingency operating conditions, as well as different generation dispatch combinations and are intended to assist operators in control centers during peak load periods of specific areas in the electric network prone to voltage stability and for critical operating conditions. Use of colors in such nomograms for secure and insecure operating regions, operating limits, criteria violations enhance the visualization. Each nomogram shows a combination of two generation dispatches, and area load, as well as other pertinent information.
