Abstract :
The duration of heat treatment affects the quality of high temperature superconductor Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca2Cu3 O10 prepared by sol-gel method. This has been confirmed by EPR measurements. The anomalous behaviour is similar to one observed by many including Dulcic et al. (1989) and has been explained on the basis of hysteresis occurring due to two component magnetic response. The best samples obtained have been sintered for 48 hours
