Abstract :
The equivalence and differences between the single wideband DS CDMA and multicarrier DS CDMA (MC-CDMA) transmissions are shown in this paper through a matched filter bound analysis. It is shown that by combining the three matched filter outputs in the three band MC-CDMA case, the output statistic is the same as output for each bit in the single wideband case for an arbitrary delay profile. Even though their performances are equivalent in most practical cases, it is shown that single wideband CDMA can more effectively use time diversity from interleaving especially when infinite interleaving can be achieved
