Abstract :
How to lengthen the span of amplifiers is a crucial issue in the soliton transmission system. As the short span is a major obstacle to a commercial soliton communication system, many ways are suggested to solve this problem. Through theoretical analysis and computer stimulation, it is proved that the comblike distributed Er3+ doped fiber amplifier can improve the noise performance and lengthen the span between two pumping stations. A preliminary discussion about the result is presented here
