Abstract
A time domain approach of SAR processing with ultra-wideband signals is presented. Usually a SAR is a narrow band system, but in our case transmitted signals are nanosecond short pulses. First, models of this UWB radar are computed. The UWB radar cross section is then developed. The measured signals can be processed by using different algorithms. We develop SAR image algorithms all based on coherent summation and matched filter, and an original method to calibrate the SAR images. These algorithms are tested with experimental data measured by an UWB prototype radar and we obtain a 20 cm resolution on a trihedral SAR image
