The 21st century is the critical period that the development strategy of urbanization of China to implement, urbanization´s success is a direct impact on the healthy economic and social development of China, but the accelerating urbanization causes a severe challenge to the sustainable development. The eastern coastal regions´ economic development is the most rapid one of China, and its urbanization process has a very important influence on the whole country. With the urbanization process continues to progress the issue of sustainable development was put forward more and more, during which the problems gradually exposed. In this paper, we did a brief analysis on the relationship between the eastern coastal urbanization and the sustainable development, and proposed the countermeasures.
