Abstract :
This paper deals with a simple control algorithm of a shunt active power filter (SAPF) to reduce the source current total harmonic distortion (THD) and compensate the point of common coupling (PCC) voltage distortion caused by the interaction current harmonic components with system impedance. The proposed SAPF is implemented with three-phase IGBT based voltage source inverter (VSI) with DC bus capacitor. The proposed simple control algorithm is based on not the synchronous reference frame but the stationary reference frame. Therefore, compared to the conventional SAPF, the proposed SAPF provides reduction of computation. To prove the validity of the proposed control algorithm, computer simulation is executed
