Summary form only given. The author provides a review of multimedia services using CD-ROM, internet/intranet, broadband based full motion video, and kiosk systems. The objective for business in introducing multimedia technology is to improve internal productivity and to gain competitive advantage externally, often through better customer service. Kiosk systems are perhaps the most obvious currently deployed example of multimedia services being used by business to address new markets. They are essentially multimedia PCs with touch activated and in some cases proximity activated video. They combine interactivity and information delivery
