Abstract :
A quasiperiodic route to chaos is studied in elementary DC-DC boost and buck-boost switching regulators. After undergoing a Neimark-Sacker bifurcation of a periodic orbit, quasiperiodic behavior is obtained and the corresponding attractor is a T2 torus. Under parameter changes, such a torus may breakdown to give chaotic behavior. The destruction of the torus is obtained by losing the torus smoothness
