Abstract :
A new design of a single layer coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed, circularly polarized square slot antenna with a fork shape feedline is presented. By choosing proper dimensions of the feedline and grounded patch elements, two orthogonal resonant modes with 90°phase difference for circular polarization (CP) operation can be excited. Predicted results are validated through experiments. The measured 3dB axial ratio bandwidth is 36% (2112-3056 MHz) for lower band I and 9% (5292-5837 MHz) for band II. Also total measured impedance bandwidth is 7810MHz. The peak gain of the antenna is measured as 4.35 dBi.
