Abstract
This paper presents the hardware and software architecture and the system requirements, design and measurements of a 24 GHz radar sensor for collision avoidance applications. The radar uses FMCW modulation and time/frequency channelization to attain interference tolerance with other radars. The millimeter wave module was fabricated from GaAs PHEMT MMICs developed during the program. The MMICs and radar system were made by Northrop Grumman Corporation
