Abstract
A new large-signal oscillator topology based on sigma-delta modulation (BPSDO) is presented. This topology includes a complete bandpass sigma-delta modulator in the feedback loop, thus differing from our previous work, the pulsed digital oscillator (PDO). The oscillation frequency is determined by the MEMS resonator. The digital frequency can be extracted from the associated bitstream at the output of oscillator. Extensive discrete-time simulations have been carried out showing the goodness of the proposed approach
