Abstract :
Novel methods are proposed and demonstrated for the generation of angle-modulated millimeter-wave optical signals; use of a monolithic semiconductor laser under subharmonic hybrid mode-locking conditions provides a compact and efficient scheme for frequency and phase modulation of subcarriers.
