  • Abstract
    As one of all-metal SWSs, folded-waveguide structure has been widely studied for high-power millimeter-wave TWT. However, the former investigations reveal that its low interaction impedance limits the gain obtained by the tube. Therefore, we propose a novel structure to enhance the beam-wave interaction and raise the gain of the tube. In this paper, a W-band two-section traveling-wave tube (TWT) model with double-groove loaded FWSWS is constructed and the nonlinear large-signal performance of such a TWT is investigated by a 3-D particle-in-cell (PIC) code MAGIC3D.
