Abstract :
Participating in the load frequency control (LFC) is an important function for wind power generation. This paper proposed a method of wind power system assisted through flywheels for the LFC of multi-area power systems with wind turbines. A Simulink model for the LFC has been established. The model is simulated with actual wind speed data. The simulating results shows that the proposed wind power flywheel system can smooth output power, and shows good performance.
