Abstract
To investigate potentials for bit error rate degradation in the telecommand, a mathematical model of the ranging signal is developed, and its frequency spectrum is derived in an explicit analytical closed form. The formulation is then used to compute the interference. The probability of error is determined and illustrated by numerical results. The analysis and results can be applied for optimal choice of frequencies and design. It is shown that the telecommand bit error rate degradation due to simultaneous ranging is negligible for all practical cases.<>
