Abstract
The Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) the acknowledged subclass of Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) draws demanding research efforts in the intriguing field of computer networks. Auto addressing protocols for VANET has not been investigated in a great deal. The addressing scheme remains a challenging issue in the networks like VANET. The dynamic auto-addressing scheme for VANET can ensure that the incoming vehicles are assigned the unique IP addresses in time. Despite of handful research attempts exist in in literature for VANET address Auto-configuration, still a well-organized solution for IP address configuration in VANETs remains in demand. The proposed dynamic addressing scheme attempts to meet the requirement of auto IP address configuration with the help of Clustering approach, which in fact overcomes the problem of unique IP address assignment. This paper mainly focuses scenarios such as highway and far flung areas.
