Abstract
This paper considers the (J,J´)-lossless factorization for descriptor systems. We extend the notion of the conjugation proposed by Kimura (1992) to descriptor systems based on a generalized algebraic Riccati equation (GARE). We show that the existence condition of the (J, J´)-lossless factorization is given in terms of two GAREs, and derive a descriptor form formula for the ( J, J´)-lossless factorization
