Abstract
A new approach is presented for experimental determination of the dispersion of the circumferential waves in cylindrical shells. With a chirp IDT as a broadband transmitter and receiver made on a stainless steel tube coated with PZT film, both the group velocity and phase velocity of the circumferential waves were obtained over a wide frequency range
