Abstract :
Color display tube (CDT) used in computer monitors, consists of many components. In particular, the deflection yoke (DY) of CDTs supplies the vertical and horizontal magnetic fields so that the spatial trajectories of electron beams are deflected according to the synchronization signals. If the magnetic fields are not correctly formed, there will be color blurring or blooming by a misconvergence of each beam and color image on screen may not be clear. Thus for automating the manufacturing of DY, fast vision sensing/processing and intelligent control algorithms are required based on expert knowledge and skills. In this paper, the description of an automatic inspection and adjustment system in the manufacturing of DY is presented
