Abstract :
This paper is concerned with investigations of three types of broadband antenna elements that are to be used for spatial power combining and phased-array radar application. The first antenna is the linearly tapered slot antenna (LTSA) with L = lambda0 while the second and the third are the exponentially tapered slot antenna (ETSA) with two different values of L (L = 5 mm and L = 0 mm). These antennas are to be fabricated with a low dielectric constant substrate material (RT/Duriod 5880 with dielectric constant epsivr = 2.2), substrate thickness of 1.27 mm and design frequency of 30 GHz. Simulations have been carried out by a program called IE3D, using the method of moments.
